How it Rates

AnandTech Motherboard Rating

Rating (x/10)

Performance

The K7T Pro is a pretty much average performer as far as KT133 boards go.

5.0

Price

Despite the high quality construction, the K7T Pro is priced a bit less than most other KT133 boards.

6.0

Stability

Whether it was due to the unique layout, the massive power capacitors, or good old fashioned careful engineering, the K7T Pro was rock solid - easily the most stable KT133 board we've tested so far.

8.5

Quality

Microstar boards are known for their quality and the K7T Pro is certainly not an exception. If anything, the K7T Pro used even higher quality components than we've seen in the past from MSI.

8.0

Features

MSI adds a jumperless CPU setup and CPU core voltage adjustments in the BIOS, along with some nice software utilities included Fuzzy Logic II and Live BIOS updating. All in all, we don't have anything all that ground breaking, but it's still better than many other companies are including.

6.0

Layout

Overall, the layout of the K7T Pro is quite good with the only minor complaint being the location of the ATX power connector immediately behind the DIMM slots. If you listen to MSI, it is their layout that is the key to their rock solid stability.

6.0

Availability

Microstar boards are relatively easy to find online, but don't expect to see them in too many retail stores.

5.0

Documentation & Software Bundle

Microstar manuals are pretty good for the advanced user, but don't contain enough information for the first time installer. MSI's software utilities, including Fuzzy Logic II and Live BIOS are interesting and add some value to the package.
